Fort Lauderdale Port Everglades is synonymous with cruising from Florida! It is often the first Port that comes to mind when planning a cruise to the Caribbean and/or Atlantic Ocean seaports.

But its size and proximity to the Fort Lauderdale metro area can be intimidating for first-time Cruisers. Even for some seasoned cruisers who are more familiar with smaller cruise ports.

We created this informational site to help you plan the perfect pre-cruise or post-cruise stay in the Port Everglades area!

What this site is all about

With hundreds of hotels, transportation options, restaurants and shopping choices to choose from, you need the unbiased opinions of locals who are not trying to sell you anything!  We do not sell cruises here, we do not arrange transportation, we do not book hotel rooms and we certainly do not own restaurants!

As residents of the East Coast of Florida we have a unique perspective on the famous cruise ports of Canaveral, Everglades and Miami! As cruisers we know the Ports and as residents we know the areas surrounding each Port. As ex-international adventure travel tour operators we understand what cruisers are looking for. Hopefully this site will become your number one resource when planning a cruise from Port Everglades.

Table of Contents

Maps – Here you will find directions to Port Everglades as well as a detailed Google Map of the Port and surrounding hotels, car rentals, restaurants, shopping, parking, water taxi and other places of interest.

Hotels – The many hotel options are grouped into location clusters for your convenience! Read about hotel shuttles, park & cruise packages, best rooms for Port views, nearby restaurants and more.

Car Rentals – Cruisers need to understand the differences between rental locations for airport arrivals and departures and cruise port arrivals and departures. Those differences are very important.

Cruise Parking – While most cruisers understand they can park ship-side, they still want to compare Port rates versus off-site parking lots. For longer cruisers the savings can be significant especially when booking online.

Shuttles and Transportation – Many cruisers need help with this one! Some options are easy (for example many hotels offer free airport transfers) but most cruisers struggle with more complex choices (for example when cruising out of Port of Miami while flying to Fort Lauderdale Airport). We help!
